 how do I set google as my default search engine in firefox not bing

Bing has taken over my firefox, how do I fix it? How do I set google as my default browser in firefox? Well they did with mine the other day after the last microsoft update. Cheeky stuff and I’d expect no less from Microsoft these days. Clever sneeky stuff I suppose.

Here are the step by step instructions on how to set google as your default search engine also called keyword.URL search within firefox

Step 1 to set Firefox Default Search Engine to Google

Copy this URL text -    http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=

Step 2 to set Firefox Default Search Engine to Google

Open a new firefox tab and type “about:config” no need to put ” and no need to put http:// in front – just type about:config

 

Step 3 to set Firefox Default Search Engine to Google

Accept the warning “I’ll be careful, I promise!

Step 4 to set Firefox Default Search Engine to Google

In the filter box type “keyword.URL” just keyword if you like will bring up the one you want and then > right click on the value > modify

Finally to get rid of bing as your search engine, just paste in the URL from the top of this post and click OK.
